An announcement: “Il Teatro della Terra Alienata,” the Australian Pavilion, designed and curated by a group of academics at University of Technology — Amaia Sánchez-Velasco, Jorge Valiente-Oriol, Gonzalo Valiente-Oriol (Grandeza), and Miguel Rodríguez-Casellas (Bajeza) — , with a fantastic group of artists and collaborators, the artistic guidance of Shoufay Derz, the exquite talent of Charlie Curtin and Issac Harrisson, the hypnotic sound of Diego Lipnizky, and the dramatic intensity of Brooke Jackson, one of the most prominent voices of the project who is literally haunting the Triennale with her three characters — has just won the maximum award — gold — at the Milano Triennale, “Broken Nature”.
This is big.
Australia, Spain, Puerto Rico, and the larger network of friends, scientists, artists, thinkers that contributed to this, are all winners today, in spite of the uncertainty of a future threatened by Climate Change, and the homicidal trend of the neoliberal common sense and its heartless, necropolitical apparatus.
Our project mixes fantasy, critical mythology and humor to imagine a future of joy and collective emancipation, under a xenofeminist rule.
