Andre Lee Muñiz is a Brooklyn Boricua with family roots in Añasco and Caguas, Puerto Rico. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Math Education with a Minor in History, and a Master’s degree in Math Education, Andre Lee spent three years substitute teaching while unable to secure a full-time position in a school system then facing massive layoffs, school closings, and hiring freezes. Having a long-time active interest in Puerto Rican history, he is an independent researcher currently working in a research institute in New York City.
